Welcome to Tipp City, a community known for excellent schools, a wonderful historic downtown district, and proximity to the crossroads of America at the intersection of I-70 & I-75. Those who already call Tipp City home will tell you that this community is a great place to live and work. Tipp City was founded in 1840 along the developing Miami and Erie Canal. Its name derives from Presidential candidate William Henry Harrison’s nickname, Tippecanoe, which, in turn, was derived from his heroism at the Battle of Tippecanoe, November 7, 1811. Located in west-central Ohio, Tipp City is home to 10,000 residents, a leader in local job creation, and is located just 10 miles from the Dayton International Airport. Throughout Tipp City, residents enjoy more than 20 community parks and open spaces, an award-winning school district, and a historic walkable downtown, featuring an eclectic assortment of shopping, dining and entertainment. Reliable City programs and services, including municipal utilities and excellent public safety resources, keep Tipp City safe and beautiful.
